Notes from The 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time Bulletin

Today we celebrate the 26th Sunday of Ordinary Time.  The Gospel of Luke makes a point that is extremely valid in our world today.  Who are the needy or the distained in our world?  Will our actions today hold us accountable in the future? Can we view the “sin of uncaring complacency” in our lives?    There are many needs in the world today – how can we help to alleviate them?  Do we even try or are we satisfied with the status quo? This Reading foretells the “rejection of Jesus even after his Resurrection from the dead”?  Pope Francis’ call for justice and mercy toward all includes everyone throughout the world who is suffering.  How can we make a difference?  Take time to reflect…
